Contact your representative today and urge him/her to support H.R. 3273 "The Consolidation Student Loan Flexibility Act of 2001." If passed, this legislation would repeal the "Single Holder Rule" in the federal loan consolidation program. Eliminating the "Single Holder Rule" would allow physicians to obtain the best interest rates and loan repayment options available in the marketplace. The current law is analogous to requiring homeowners wanting to refinance their mortgages to do so only with their current mortgage holders.
