Presentation Requirements

It is an expected tradition in the MSP to have our senior students present their current research at this event. Presenting at the Research Symposium is quite an honor and we are very much looking forward to hearing you present the clinical relevance of your current research to our audience.

This is your chance to shine! It has been noted that when you look through our student's CVs who have matched, they nearly all have an oral presentation section on their CV. This will be an important event for you to add to your oral presentation section of your CV as an invited presenter!

What we need from you is the following:

1. You will need to present a 10 minute talk on your research. Your talk will be followed by a 5 minute Q&A session. Because your talk is limited to only 10 minutes, you should plan on presenting 3-4 main points. A good rule of thumb is 30 sec intro, 2-3 min. per main point, 30 sec conclusion. When you present your slides another good rule of thumb is generally to keep to 2 minutes per slide. We hope that you will find these speech tips helpful! 2. Complete and submit this form by Friday, July 29th, 2005. We will need the title of your presentation, an abstract of your presentation, a brief biographical sketch, a picture for us to include in the program and your A/V needs. In particular, for A/V, what operating system and application will you be using? We want to make sure that we have the compatible equipment for you. In addition, please feel free to stop by the SA/MSP Office if you need your picture taken for the program.
   
   
3. We are planning on holding a brief rehearsal before the event. We will be in touch with you regarding further details in the near future.
