ADVISORY COMMITTEE
OUTSTANDING ADVISOR AWARDS

For many faculty members, being an MSP advisor carries unexpected challenges. Medical Scholars must balance their graduate and medical pursuits, and often MSP advisors put in extra effort to understand and guide their students through this lengthy and often stressful process. This year, the Medical Scholars Program Advisory Committee (MSPAC) would like to recognize the most outstanding MSP advisors for their invaluable contributions to the success of our students.

The sixth annual MSPAC Outstanding Advisor Awards will be presented at the Fall Retreat in August 2005. In order to nominate your advisor to receive this award, please submit a nomination with the following information:

• Nominee's name, address, phone number, e-mail address and Department
• Your name, address, phone number and e-mail address
• Your number of medical and graduate years completed (while with this advisor)
• A written statement of no more than 1000 words which briefly describes the nominee's role as an advisor and mentor. How has this advisor assisted in your professional growth? Why would you recommend this advisor to other MSPs in your discipline?

Please submit nominations to the MSP office or Elena Rhoads’ HUB box by Friday, May 27, 2005. Thank you for your assistance in helping us recognize the outstanding work of our advisors. Those recognized with this award will serve as role models for future MSP advisors.
