2005 marks the 25^th anniversary of the Medical Scholars Program Allerton Research Symposium. This annual event is always the highlight of our year. For this special 25^th anniversary event, we would like to invite you to help celebrate this important milestone in the history of our program. This year we are estimating that 150 students, alumni, and research and clinical faculty advisors will attend the symposium on August 27-28, 2005. On Saturday the 27^th, there will be a series of graduate student presentations, poster sessions, and social gatherings. This first evening of the event represents an important opportunity to introduce and welcome our entering class of MD/PhD students and to meet and greet the alumni in attendance. Our keynote event will involve a panel of MSP alumni discussing job opportunities for MD/PhD students in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and other industries. Our panel will include three outstanding MSP graduates: Nora Zorich, MD, PhD, Medical Director, New Drug Development at Proctor & Gamble; Andy Krivoshik, MD, PhD, Associate Medical Director for Physician Development Program at Abbott Laboratories; and John Maier, MD, PhD, Senior Biomedical Scientist for ChemImage Corporation– a start-up biotechnology company in Pittsburgh.
