The NBME Subject Exam does not emphasize:

a.  Controversial Topics

b.  Very New Topics (within 2 Years)

c.  Details of Therapy

d.  Non-Internal Medicine Except for as Above

Suggestions for Preparing for End-of-Rotation Shelf Examination

a.  Ask questions during rounds regarding history/physical findings, natural history of disease, laboratory/x-ray findings on patients you see.

  b.  Read extensively about the diseases of your own patients

c.  Fulfill all requirements of the clerkship including conferences

d.  Read systematically in Cecil Essentials of Medicine, 6th edition
