Community Medical School
Overview
As a joint effort between the College of Medicine and Carle Foundation Hospital, the Community Medical School outreach program assists everyday citizens to answer questions such as “How does the human body work?”, “Where is cutting-edge biomedical research going?”, “How are medical advances changing our understanding of disease and health?” and finally “What’s really behind the medical and health news you hear about every day?”. With topics ranging from aging to obesity, this outreach effort provides a valuable information source that area residents welcome. The public’s response since the project’s inception, along with the commitment of the College’s and University’s faculty as well as Carle’s physicians and staff; has established it as an important public engagement program for health promotion in the region. |
