Ambassador Program

Overview and Purpose

The College of Medicine, as a part of the Land Grant University of Illinois, has a three-fold mission. That mission is to first, educate physicians for the next century of medical practice, and second, to conduct research in the area of biomedical sciences and human health. In addition, it has a third mission, that of public engagement which is to share that education and the knowledge obtained from research with the citizens of Illinois and beyond. The Ambassador program is a vital component of that public engagement mission. Through the Ambassador program, the College strives to build community relationships throughout Illinois and to serve those communities as a bridge to information in the areas of health, professional medical education, health care issues, and health information.
